Pegah Kazemi (b. 1985, Tehran, Iran) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans painting and performance. Trained in Dramatic Arts, she has been active in experimental theater since 2006 and is a longtime collaborator with Avant Art Factory, in addition to appearing in several U.S.-produced short films.
As a painter, Kazemi works in two distinct approaches: one engages contemporary figurative art with influences from Pop Art and Minimalism, while the other is a quiet, personal style exploring illustration and surrealism. She holds dual MFAs in Studio Art—from Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences in Bonn (2018) and Bowling Green State University in Ohio (2023). Her work has been exhibited widely, including at the AXA Art Prize in New York City, and is recognized for its narrative depth, psychological intensity, and refined technique.
